As a result of a €400,000 allocation, the public will be able to benefit from the double or triple glazing scheme for windows and roof insulation to help make more sustainable use of energy.
The scheme was announced by the Minister for Energy Miriam Dalli and the Chief Executive of the Regulator for Energy and Water Services, Eng. Marjohn Abela.
Through a grant on the purchase of domestic systems, aid will be provided to reduce energy consumption.
With this scheme, the government will refund 50% of the eligible cost, up to a maximum of € 1,000. Thus, the scheme will cover aid up to a maximum of € 1,000 on retrofitted double or triple glazing and a maximum aid of € 1,000 on retrofitted roof insulation.
Minister Dalli said that after the public showed interest in roof insulation and double or triple glazing, the government thought of subsidizing existing old houses that do not have this type of protection.
This scheme is open to those who already have roofs and apertures and want to replace them.
Eligible applicants can apply for this grant using the form available on the website of the Regulator for Energy and Water Services (www.rews.org.mt) . Applications for this scheme will be accepted from 16 June 2022 until the end of the year 2022.
Scheme funding is available until the exhaustion of the €400,000 allocation, so interested applicants are encouraged to apply at their earliest convenience to avoid disappointment.
